About

The web got its security layer in 1995. AI is still waiting for one.

Secure Shield Labs — SSL — was founded in 2026 to build it. The name is deliberate.

Why now

Two facts, and the gap between them

Enterprises have spent two years putting models and agents into production. The governance apparatus around them was written for software that waits to be told what to do.

Meanwhile the obligations arrived. The EU AI Act, ISO 42001, updated audit expectations — all asking for an inventory, a control mapping and current evidence that most organisations cannot produce.

The gap between those two facts is the company. Not another framework, and not a consultancy: a layer that sits above what you already run and keeps the answer current.

How we work

Four commitments we can be held to

Read-only by default

We ask for the least access that can answer the question. Write access is opt-in, per system, and logged.

Evidence over assertion

If the platform claims a control passes, it can show you the artefact and the timestamp behind it.

Build against real frameworks

Every control in the library traces to a published requirement. Nothing is invented to make a dashboard look complete.

Say the stage out loud

We are early. Partners get told what exists, what is being built and what is a plan.

Small, and honest about it
